The Drumlin Storytelling Festival makes a welcome return, and events taking place on Culture Night include a Night at the Museum Storytelling Session at Monaghan County Museum (no booking required) from 7-8pm, all ages welcome.

The Peace Campus is a hive of Culture Night activity, hosting the official launch of Tradoodle, Ireland’s premiere traditional music and arts festival for young audiences. A puppet-making workshop for ages 7 and up (booking required) at 5.30pm precedes a performance by the Tradoodle Big Band at 6.30pm – all welcome, no booking necessary for the latter.

Dani Larkin at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, Annaghmakerrig includes a mini tour of the house and refreshments, before the electrifying singer songwriter Dani Larkin takes to the stage. Booking required. 

Meanwhile, in Castleblayney and Oram, Culture Night heralds the start of the Back to Castleblayney Weekend, with a star-studded launch party taking place in the Commons Carpark (Old Coach Inn), and ‘A Night in Song’ in remembrance of Big Tom at the Oram  GFC Social Club.  

Clones Film Festival is marking the occasion with a specially curated selection of cinematic highlights from its annual programme, kicking off at 8.30pm at Clones Courthouse (no booking required). 

The Garage Theatre plays host to Blues Musicians, Grainne Duffy and Paul Sherry; and a ‘Celebration of Blayney Session’ at Íontas promises a special celebration of Castleblayney and its people, with a ‘delicious meal of Irish fayre’ served by the Íontas kitchen. Booking required for both events. 

Our brilliant County libraries are offering an exciting array of events for all ages, from Family Storytime at Monaghan Town Library and a Teen Art Workshop at Clones Library, to a mindful and relaxing ‘The Art of Parabola’ workshop facilitated by Hannah McMahon of Convert Textiles (adults only) at Carrickmacross Library.
