The County Monaghan Fund was established in January 2004. It is the first county philanthropic fund in the Republic of Ireland. It was set up with the support of the Community Foundation for Ireland and a committee of 12 civic minded Monaghan people representing all areas of the county.
County Monaghan people from both at home and abroad can benefit from the County Monaghan Funds resources, they are creating a parish network to identify and trace emigrants in all Parishes/Townlands, Towns and Villages in County Monaghan. This network will assist them to trace the location of the emigrants homestead, family headstones etc. They have also a help page on this website for people who wish to do their own family research, plus a registration form for people abroad who wish the parish network team to assist them to locate the exact location, on the ground, of their ancestral home plus establish the location of any relations living in the area. This help page and registration form can be accessed by logging into their website.
