If you have left your Christmas shopping until the last minute this year, the good news is there is still time to pick up a unique made-in-Monaghan gift for your nearest and dearest. We have got you covered, with our #MyMonaghan Christmas last-minute gift guide.

Back by popular demand, Designer Crafts at the Market House in Monaghan Town is an annual pop-up showcase of quality locally made gifts. Open 11am-6pm daily right up until 23rd December, you can be sure to find the perfect last-minute Christmas gift for that picky parent or hard-to-please aunt. Designers touting their wares include weaver Dorinda McCormack and artist Niamh O’Connor.

If you are in Carrickmacross, be sure to pop along to Market Square, where you will find the gorgeous, well-stocked Carrickmacross Lace Gallery, whilst the unit next door houses Collective at Market Square, a curated collection of gifts made by artists and crafters from all over the county, including scarves and stocking fillers from Liz Christy and Louise Loughman; hand-made chopping boards from Dernacoo Crafts; candles by The Happy Chandler  and artwork and ornaments by Kings Forge Glass.

Crafty on Muckno Street in Castleblayney stocks Subh Fraoc Bán jams and preserves, Willow Wood Lane prints and upcycled goodies from Convert Textiles.

In the north of the county, Ulster Canal Stores Visitor Centre has all your last-minute gift needs taken care of, with Clones Lace, exclusively commissioned artworks and much more available for click and collect.

Gift vouchers for Monaghan hotels and experiences can be purchased right up until Christmas Eve and are easy to print out at home or send on directly to the recipient via email.

You can opt to gift a specific experience, such as an afternoon tea with bubbles, a round of golf at Concra Wood Golf & Country Club, a spa treatment or a pottery session. Or, why not consider a town voucher, which can be put towards a meal, a stay in a hotel or spent at a plethora of participating retail outlets throughout the town. Carrickmacross and Castleblayney both offer a similar local voucher scheme.

Wishing you and yours a very Merry Monaghan Christmas!
