Castleblayney Players Present From Under the Bed

CASTLEBLAYNEY PLAYERS will be performing From Under the Bed, written by Seamus O’Rourke, in Iontas Theatre Thursday 16^th, Friday 17^th and Saturday 18^th October.

The cast of Francis Gerard Duffy and Pat Deery will be well known to theatre goers around the county. They portray two bachelor brothers, Eugene and Pat McPartland, living on the family farm in 1979 – the year the Pope visited Ireland. In the middle of the night Pat arrives in Eugene’s bedroom dressed in his good suit wondering how much money Eugene has saved. Pat has been thinking, which worries Eugene, as there’s a lot of “auld shite” being talked about in the middle of the night which might be better left under the bed.

Seamus O’Rourke is a playwright, poet and storyteller from Co. Leitrim. He has written numerous pieces for stage, Utube, radio and tv. This play is full of humour and heartache as the writer describes the brothers’ lives in rural Ireland.
